CABE members are enrolled in the nearest local chapter at no additional cost, but may choose a different chapter, if desired. The chapter receives 20% of all membership dues for local activities.

CABE recognizes the need for more bilingual educators in the state and supports individuals interested in pursuing careers in bilingual education with various scholarships, including $2,000 CABE Teachership Awards for members seeking bilingual teaching credentials.

1. What are the new membership types?
    • Parent/Student/Community: For individuals or families involved in education or the community.
    • Teacher/Administrator/Paraeducator: For educators, administrators, and paraeducators in schools.
    • Commercial: For businesses and organizations supporting bilingual education.
    • Institutional: For schools, districts, and educational institutions.
2. What do I get with each membership?
    • Standard: Join chapters, vote in board elections, receive newsletters, and more!
    • Gold: Everything in Standard, plus a 15% discount and a free T-shirt at CABE 2025.
    • Platinum: Everything in Gold, plus a subscription to Language Magazine.
3. Do I get a free membership if I attend CABE 2025?

Yes! All paid attendees get complimentary Standard membership. You can upgrade to Gold or Platinum when you register.

4. Who gets the 15% discount for CABE 2025?

Legacy, Gold, and Platinum members receive the 15% discount for CABE 2025.

5. How can I upgrade my complimentary Standard membership?

You can upgrade to Gold or Platinum when you register for CABE 2025.

6. What if I’m a current member?

Members with active membership through March 31, 2025, will become Legacy members and receive the same benefits as Gold. All others will need to renew at the current rate or register for CABE 2025 to receive complimentary Standard membership.

7. Will my membership automatically change?

Your membership status will remain the same until you renew or register for CABE 2025. Legacy members will automatically be changed to Legacy status and receive Gold benefits.

8. Do I need a promo code to receive a discount?

Only Legacy members will receive a promo code, which can be entered at registration checkout. Gold and Platinum members will have their discount automatically applied.

9. If I upgrade, do I pay the full price for Gold or Platinum membership?

No, you only pay the difference between your current membership and the upgraded level:

    • Parent/Student/Community: $10 to upgrade to Gold, $25 to upgrade to Platinum

Teacher/Administrator/Paraeducator: $10 to upgrade to Gold, $25 to upgrade to Platinum

10. Can I opt out of the free membership?

Yes, you can opt out of the complimentary Standard membership during registration.
